20-day conclave begins in Agra

Agra, Mar 28 (UNI) A 20-day conclave of eunuchs kicked off in the Taj City here today with much fanfare.

The event started with 'Chak Pujan' ritual by the eldest eunuch Mata Rani at the local Victoria Inter College.

Later, around 1,000 eunuchs took out a colourful and musical procession in the city. They also offerred prayers at temples falling along the route.

Shobha, who has thrice been elected a corporator from Hisar area of Haryana since 1994, said the conference aimed at paying homage to late community gurus.
