W B state CPI(M) to meet on Mar 31 to elect next successor

Kolkata, Mar 27 (UNI) The West Bengal state committee of CPI(M) will meet here on March 31 to elect the successor of the party's State Committee Secretary Anil Biswas, who died yesterday.

Announcing this, Party General Secretary Prakash Karat said the '' the party state committee will decide who will be the new State Secretary.'' He said the death of Mr Biswas was a grievous loss not only for the CPI(M) but also for the entire Left movement in the country.

'' This loss will be felt deeply in our party's all India leadership, '' he said.

Describing Mr Biswas as an exceptional organiser and a talented strategist who helped the party in '' every twist and turn '' of situation, Mr Karat said the departed leader also made a mark in the highest echelon with his ideological and political understandings.

Mr Biswas died yesterday following a massive heart attack on March 18. His body has been handed over to NRS hospital authorities for research as per his last wish.
