United India Insurance employees stage demo

Coimbatore, Mar 27 (UNI) More than 100 employees and officers of the United India Insurance today staged demonstrations all over the region in protest against the closure of the company's Rasipuram branch today.

Coimbatore Region General Insurance Employees Association (CRGIEA) general secretary S V Shankar condemned the management's attitude of closing the offices against the interest of the public, particularly the Rasipuram branch in the name loss making branch.

As part of the intensified struggle, signatures were obtained from officers and employees coming under the region comprising four districts. The signatures would be submitted to the management if it does not drop the proposal for closure of offices.
