New Delhi, Mar 27 (UNI) Expelled BJP leader Uma Bharti today said she would field a woman candidate against Congress President Sonia Gandhi in the byelection to the Rae Bareli Lok Sabha constituency.

Ms Bharti, who has announced her decision to float her own political outfit on April 30, told mediapersons in an informal chat here, that she would field a ''decent and better educated'' person than the Congress President.

Seeking cooperation from her former party as well as the Samajwadi Party, she said ''established political parties should have no problem in extending their support to her candidate whose educational qualifications were better than Ms Gandhi, who is a ''mere matriculate.'' She said she had written a letter to BJP President Rajnath Singh and was not averse to seeking the support of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav on this issue. Ms Bharti, however, declined to reveal her candidate's name but said she had two or three people in mind.

Buoyed by the success she received for her 'Janadesh' rallies in the past two months, Ms Bharti said her new outfit would contest all elections and byelections in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Delhi.

''My party will have a district-level presence in these states within 90 days. It will contest byelections to the Vidisha Lok Sabha and Budhani assembly constituency against MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan if the elections are held before April 30.
