'Tender process for HC bench to be compeleted by June'

Bangalore, Mar 27 (UNI) The Karnataka government will complete the tender call process by the end of June for constructing the circuit bench of the Karnataka High Court at Hubli-Dharwad at an estimated cost of Rs 66 crore, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Basavaraj Horatti informed the Legislative Council today.

Replying to a query from Mr Basavaraj Bommai (JD-U) and Leader of the Opposition H K Patil during the zero hour, he said the government was also making efforts to start work simultaneously on the proposed High Court bench at Gulbarga.

Mr Patil demanded the government to increase the budgetary allocation to Rs 100 crore from Rs 20 crore for the benches to be set up in north Karnataka while referring to the ongoing agitation at Dharwad demanding more funds for the project.

Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said the government was committed to setting up the High Court benches and would provide the funds depending on the progress of the works.
