Steps needed to prevent AIDS: Apang
Itanagar, Mar 27 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Gegong Apang the called upon the health managers and volunteers to take immediate steps to prevent spread of AIDS in the state.
While addressing the advocacy workshop on HIV/AIDS organised yesterday by Arunachal Pradesh State AIDS Control Society (APSACS) for elected representatives, including zila parishad members here, Mr Apang described the HIV situation in the state as alarming.
The Chief Minister urged the elected representatives to work with determination to prevent the spread of the disease.
Stressing on the formation of more volunteer groups and organisations like Assam Network of Positive People, Mr Apang advocated sufficient funds for awareness campaign and publication of booklets in local dialects.
