Six killed, 33 injured in road mishap

Moga, Mar 27 (UNI) Six people, including a two-year-old, child were killed and 33 others injured when the private bus in which they were travelling collided with a road side tree near Samalsar village in the district today.

Police said the driver of the ill-fated bus lost control while overtaking another private bus as a result the vehicle hit a tree. The bus was on its way to Kot Kapura.

While a woman identified as Gurdev Kaur died on the spot, the other five including the child died while on the way to the civil hospital here.The other three victims were identified as two-year- old Ritu of Ladhaki village, Makhan Singh of Malout and Goldie of Jind in Haryana. The remaining two were yet to be identified.

The injured were admitted to various hospitals in the town.
