Sharad Pawar inaugurates NE Agri Expo 2006
Dimapur, Mar 27: Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar today (Mar 27, 2006) inaugurated North East Agricultural Expo, 2006 where all the eight NE states participated.
Hosted by the state government, the expo was sponsored by Union Ministeries of Agiculture, Department of NE region(DoNEr) and Rural Development and co-organised by Confederation of India Industry (CII).
In his inaugural speech, Mr Pawar said the North East has adverse bio-derversity with rare flora and flora.
Nagaland would help us to acheive the Union government's 'Look East' policy, he said.
He mentioned that the five-day expo would provide a platform for the farmers of the region to interact with the scientists, resource persons and investors to boost their agricultural production with modern know-how and technical machinaries.
Union Minister of State for Agriculture Kanti Lal Bhuria, Union Minister for Food Processing Subodh Kant Sahai, CII Chairman Bhruv Sawhaney and many other delegates participated in this expo.
Earlier, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio welcomed the guest and delegates from all over the country.
