Sensex at an all time high of 11,061 pts with 100 plus pts gain

Mumbai, Mar 27 (UNI) The benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) opened with a gain of 46 points at 10,996 as compared to the last close of 10,950.

Sensex was leading with a gain of 111 points at an all time high of 11,061 at 1136 hrs.

The earlier high of the Sensex was 11,017.

Big boy Reliance Industries was trading at life time high of Rs 792.40 with a gain of 1.29 per cent or Rs 10.10 Volumes were also very high with more than four crore shares traded so far.

Steel Authority of India (SAIL) was also at an all time high of Rs 86.40 this morning.

Among the 30 Sensex index 28 blue chips were gaining this morning around 1120 hrs.

Maximum gains were seen in the Metal companies with more than three per cent gain in the BSE Metal index at 3.42 per cent.

BSE FMCG index was the other big gainer this morning.

The BSE midcap and smallcap Indices were also showing very good gains of 1.27 per cent and 1.67 per cent, respectively.

The top Sensex gainers were led by lifetime high mark reached by FMCG giant Hindustan Lever at Rs 267 with a gain of 4.56 per cent over the last close.

Other prominent gainers were from the metal pack lead by Tata Steel, Hindalco. Also at the top of Sensex gainers were Tata Power, Gujarat Ambuja Cements, Cipla, Reliance Energy, Reliance Industries, Ranbaxy and SBI.

The two losers on the Sensex were Dr Reddy's Lab and Infosys.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) S&P CNX Nifty was trading at 3,315 with a gain of 35 points at 1132 hrs.
