PSEB, Patiala to face CESC Kolkata in final

Chandigarh, March 27 (UNI) Seasoned campaigners Punjab State Electricity Board (PSEB), Patiala and Central Electricity Supply Corporation(CESC) from Kolkata will cross swords in the final of the 32nd All India Electricity Boards Hockey Tournament at the Sector 42 Hockey Stadium here tomorrow.

Both the semifinals played today turned out to be one-sided affairs. CESC routed Haryana Vitran Prasaran Nigam Limited(HVPNL) while PSEB drubbed Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board(MPSEB) by an identical 4-0 margin. The PSEB-MPSEB semifinal was contested under floodlights and the second half was curtailed by 25 minutes.

Hardial Singh scored a brace for PSEB with field goals in the 17th and 23rd minutes after Kuljit Singh had put PSEB into the lead with a field goal in the 16th minute. Gurdeep Singh converted their fifth penalty corner in the 39th minute to complete the winners' tally.

Earlier in the afternoon CESC outclassed HVPNL by 4-0. K Kujur converted two penalty corners in the second and 13th minutes while A Tirkey and S Saha scored one field goal each in the 10th and 40th minutes, respectively.
