Noida residents clash with police over boundary wall
Lucknow, Mar 27 (UNI) Police used rubber bullets and tear gas shells to disperse a mob which went on a rampage over construction of a boundary wall betwwen two colonies in Gautam Buddha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh today.
Earlier, Allahabad High Court had ordered the construction of a wall between Khoda Colony in Ghaziabad district and Rajat Vihar colony in G B Nagar by the Noida Authority, UP home department said.
The incident occured at around mid-day when a team of Noida Authority officials reached the place, the residents of Khoda Colony started pelting stones on them. The villagers also set around a dozen of flats on fire in Rajat Vihar colony.
While the officials decided against the constrution today, the residents of Khoda Colony targeted residents of Rajat Vihar.
In a bid to protect the residents, police used rubber bullets and tear gas to disperse the mob.
Police and Noida Authority officials also received minor injuries in the flare-up.
However, the situation was brought under control by late evening.
