No trace of missing Thailand woman tourist in Kashmir

Srinagar, Mar 27: There was still no clue about a woman tourist from Thailand, Haunge Sui Chin who is missing since Wednesday afternoon, official sources today said.

The 50-year-old Chin arrived here on March 22 and stayed in a house boat in the famed Dal Lake. However, she left to visit nearby Mughal Gardens in the afternoon and did not return.

The house boat owner later informed the tourist police and a massive hunt was launched to trace her.

After failing to trace Chin, a missing case was registered at Nehru Park police station.

All the belongings of Chin are in the house boat, they said.

Official sources said police parties rushed to different parts of the valley remained clueless about the missing tourists.

A number of people were questioned without making any breakthrough, they said.

Police have searched almost all tourists places including Gulmarg and pahalgam, a major attraction for foreign tourists sources said.

All huts and hotels at Gulmarg and Pahalgam were searched, but the whereabouts of the tourists were still not known.

More than 2000 foreign tourists have visited the Kashmir valley during this winter.
