No air attack threat at Ayodhya
Lucknow, Mar 27 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government today ruled out any air attack threat on the disputed structure at Ayodhya following recent terrorist activities in the state.
Replying to a question in UP assembly, parliamentary affairs minister Mohd Azam Khan said all necessary arrangments had been made to thwart any terrorists' attempt to attack religious sites.
''We know some terrorist organisations are equipped with missile and rocket lauchers, but there are security systems including radar to detect such projectiles as soon as they are launched,'' he added.
Without mentioning details of the security cover at Ayodhya and other sensitive places including Varanasi and Mathura, the minister claimed with coordination between UP and the centre, all possible steps had been taken to strengthen the security cover these sites.
Earlier, BJP members Narendra Singh Gaur, Suresh Chandra Srivastava and others sought to know from the state government that what security arrangements had been put in place after specific intelligence inputs about terrorist activities in UP.
