NC expresses displeasure over preparation of Urs
Jammu, Mar 27 (UNI) The National Conference (NC) today expressed its displeasure over the transportation, street lights and power supply facilities at Hazrat Sultan-ul-Arfeen (AR) during the 'Urs' days beginning from March 30.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the response in the Legislative Assembly, the main Opposition party's (NC) MLA Ali Mohammad Sagar, who raised the issue through a calling attention motion, walked out from the House.
Minister for youth services and sports Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed informed the House that during the 'Urs' days requisite arrangements are being made for pilgrims by the Wakf Board with the help of district administration.
Mr Sayeed said advance action had been taken in a recent meeting convened by the Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar. ''All concerned departments have been directed to provide necessary facilities to the pilgrims to ensure smooth celebrations at the Shrine,'' he added.
