MPT releases first list of 20 candidates in TN
Chennai, Mar 27 (UNI) The Makkal Puthiya Thamizhagam (MPT) today released its first list of 20 candidates contesting in the May 8 assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.
In a statement here, Party founder president P Durai Arasan said he would contest from Lalgudi Assembly constituency in Tiruchirapalli district. Party general secretary S Thangapandi would seek election from Sri Vaikuntam while Deputy General Secretary S M Gandhi Mallar would contest from Vilathikulam constituency.
The names of other candidates are S Velusamy(Srirangam) V M Sothiraj (Tiruverambur), T M Kanagasabapathy (Kabilarmalai) V Karunanidhi (Thiruvadanai), P Nallusamy(Athur), R Ganapathy Kudumbanar (Vellakovil), M Shanmugaraj (Kadayanallur), Sadhasivam (Mannargudi), R Suresh (Karur), V Nachimuthu (Aravakkurichi), N Pal Pandiyan (Theni), V Thangadurai (Andipatti), Chandrasekaran (Vedaranyam) Ganesan (Musiri), Prabhakaran (Udhagamandalam), V S Arumugasamy Nadar (Tiruvaiyaru) and S Thaveed Thangavel (Tuticorin).
He said the party would release the second and final list of another 15 to 20 candidates within a week.
