Bhopal, Mar 27 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh government has decided to set up Project Clearance and Implementation Board for fast track scrutiny and clearance of fresh investment proposals worth more than Rs 25 crore, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said today.

Announcing this at the ''MP Prospective Investors Meet'' here, Mr Chouhan said the state government was committed to transform Madhya Pradesh into an industrially advanced state and all facilities and concessions would be ensured to the investors under the new industry promotion policy. A cabinet sub-committee had also been constituted under the new policy for effective coordination among various departments.

A total of 28 prominent industrialists, who had given proposals for investment of about Rs 72,778 crores, were honoured on the occasion. Mr Chouhan also held detailed discussions with the investors.

The Project Clearance and Implementation Board would be headed by the Chief Secretary as its chairman, the Chief Minister said.

Principal Secretaries of Finance , Revenue, Commercial Taxes, Industry, Housing and Environment departments, besides Secretary to the Chief Minister would be its members.

The Board would be provided necessary secretarial assistance by a cell in the Chief Minister's office. Ordinarily, the investor had to submit his proposal to the department concerned, which will put up the case for speedy clearance before the Board, which will meet twice a month, invariably on first and third Tuesdays. The Board will report to the Chief Minister.

Claiming that infrastructure development and increasing power generation were on the government's top priority, Mr Chouhan said 12,000 Km roads had been constructed and upgraded in the last two years and 40,000 Km roads would be constructed in the next three years.

''The much talked out single window clearance system would be converted into single table system to facilitate prompt clearances for the proposed industries'', he said.

Industry Minister Babulal Gaur, who also addressed the meet, said concessions provided to industrialists would continue even after introduction of Value Added Tax from April this year.
