Mercury level indicates hot and sultry days ahead
Chennai, Mar 27 (UNI) Even as the summer season is yet to set in, the mercury levels soared past the 38 deg celsius today, indicative of the hot and sultry days ahead for the people of this metropolis.
When contacted, officials at the meteorological Centre told UNI here that the Meenambakkam airport area recorded the highest temperature of 38.8 Deg Celsius, in recent time. The Nungambakkam area in the city recorded a temperature of 37.1 Deg C.
Dry winds, coupled with rising temperature caused the rise in mercury levels, they added.
