Mehmud Madani says he is not against Arshad Madani as president

New Delhi, Mar 27 (UNI) Jamiat-Ulema-e-Hind general secretary Maulana Mehmud Madani today said he would fully accept any decision taken by the general body of the organisations convened on April 6 in connection with the election of its president.

He sought to clarify that he had never termed as farce the election of Maulana Arshad Madani to the post as reported.

''I had said something about observance of the constitutional norms to be followed for holding such elections, which has been misunderstood,'' he said in a statement here.

He also denied that he was acting at the behest of some political forces as has been alleged.
