Mumbai, Mar 27 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir government has awarded a Rs 4312.5 crore project to a consortium of national and international companies for executing the 1200 megawatt Sawalkote hydro-electric project.

Hindustan Construction today informed the Bombay Stock Exchange that the company has received intimation of the approval by the J&K government, adding its share in the project is Rs 1940.63 crore.

Foreign companies associated with the mega project, to be completed in seven and a half years , are SPAS of Norway and Ozaltin of Turkey, the company said in a release.
