Humpy to take part in Men's National A

Vijayawada, Mar 27 (UNI) Grand Master Koneru Humpy will be setting a record of sorts by participating for the third time in the Men's National 'A' chess Championship to be held at Visakhapatnam from April 3.

Koneru Ashok, Humpy's father and coach said in a release here today that Humpy will be the only woman in the country to achieve this. At present with an ELO rating of 2537, she was eligible to participate in both men and women's events.

The 43rd National 'A' Men and 32nd National 'A' Women's championships will be organised by Vizag District Chess Association on behalf of Andhra Pradesh Chess Association at Vizag.
