Huge ganja seized by BSF near Indo-Bangla border

Agartala, Mar 27: Border Security Force (BSF) jawans have seized 47 kgs of ganja and two vehicles from near the Indo-Bangla border at Narsingar here last night, sources said here today (Mar 27, 2006).

Acting on a tip-off, the BSF jawans started frisking vehicles on the border road and stopped private car and seized 37 kgs of ganja from it.

Later in a similar raid they stopped a three wheeler and seized 10 kgs of ganja from it. The driver of the three wheeler was arrested, while the driver of the private car managed to escape.

The sources said these ganja were meant for smuggling to Bangladesh from where it would re-enter India through West Bengal border.
