Hindu Munnani to support BJP in TN Assembly poll

Written by: Staff

Tiruchirapalli, Mar 27: The 'Hindu Munnani' party has decided to support Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the ensuing Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu assembly.

In a release here today, party's state convenor S Muruganandham said a decision to this effect was taken at the General Council Meeting held at Seerathoppu, near here, last evening.

Since the BJP has supported the Hindu Munnani's main demands, which included setting up of a separate board for the Hindu temples in the state, the party had decided to extend their support to the BJP in the May 8 polls, he said.

In order to propagate Hindu Munnani's principles and its growth among people, the party decided to conduct training programmes for its volunteers at several places in the state.

The initial training programme would be held at Vivekananda Kendra in Kanyakumari from April 4 to April 10 and the second programme at Tiruppur from April 21 to April 27, the release added.
