Haryana to set-up Tech Park at Rai
Chandigarh, Mar 27 (UNI) The Haryana State Industrial Development Corporation (HSIDC) has decided to develop another Technology Park at Industrial Estate, Rai on the lines of parks being set up at IMT Manesar and Panchkula.
Disclosing this today after the meeting of the Board of Directors, Mr Rajeev Arora, Managing Director of the Corporation informed that the IMT Manesar Technology Park, spread over an area of about 140 acres, received an overwhelming response and had received 37 project proposals for allotment of land ranging from 10 acres to 50 acres. Allotment of plots of various sizes had been made to twelve anchor units.
Prominent amongst these were, Agilent Technologies, HCL Technoparks, Shapoorji Pallonji (Tata Group), T3 Infra Tech Private Limited and Primrose Projects Private Limited.
Mr Arora said that the Manesar Technology Park was likely to generate direct employment opportunities for about 12,000 trained professionals and would also generate an equal number of indirect employment opportunities.
The Technology Park, including an Information Technology corridor at Panchkula, was also in an advanced stage of implementation. The Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) had already handed over 97 acres of land for the first phase of the park.
The Managing Director stated that the Technology Park at Rai would be set up over an area of about 56 acres of land located at NH-1 adjacent to the existing industrial estate and food park.
Prospective applicants with an investable surplus of Rs 100 crore and above shall be eligible for allotment of land in this park.
In addition to the Technology Park, HSIDC had also allotted land to Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR), a Government of India undertaking with the Ministry of Railways, for setting up a cold chain complex at Rai. The prestigious project would be of great importance for the farming community of the region. The state-of-the-art project would provide logistic support to the Food Park at Rai.
The CONCOR project was likely to go on stream by the end of this year.
