Govt proposes to open 12 hostels for minorities on pilot basis

Hyderabad, Mar 27 (UNI)Andhra Pradesh Minister for Minorities Welfare, Mr Fariduddin today informed the state assembly that the government proposed to open 12 hostels in 12 districts for minorities, under Minorities Welfare Department as a pilot project during 2006-07.

In a written reply to a question By Mr Akbaruddin Owaisi and others of the AIMIM, the Minister said an amount of Rs 2 crore was proposed to be provided for the project.

The Minister said the proposal to increase the rates of scholarships for Urdu students on par with the BC students was under the government's consideration.
