Govt officials held for graft

Hyderabad, Mar 27 (UNI) Sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today arrested Dr M A Venkateswarlu, Superintendent of Government Area Hospital in Prakasam District for taking bribe from a complainant.

An ACB release here said Dr Venkateswarlu demanded Rs 5,000 as bribe from Siraj for issuing cheque for Rs 13,000 towards hire charges and renewing his contract.

In another case, Revenue Inspector G Venkatesh of Chakkarya-peta Mandal in Kadapa District was arrested by ACB officials on March 25 while accepting Rs 1,000 from a farmer for issuing legal heir certificate.
