Elizabeth 2 berths at Cochin Port with more than 1500 tourists
Kochi, Mar 27 (UNI) Queen Elizabeth-2, popularly called QE-2, berthed at Cochin Port this morning with more than 1500 tourists and nearly 1000 crew members aboard.
One of the largest cruise vessels, the luxury liner is a vessel of British nationality. It is 330 meters long, 10 metres draught and travels at a top speed of 32.5 knots.
It arrived here this morning from Colombo and left in the evening for Mumbai.
According to Cochin Port Trust sources, while 23 of the passengers left for Agra to see the Taj Mahal, the others visited the local tourist spots including Fort Kochi, the old Jewish synagogue and the Chinese fishing nets on the backwaters.
