Kozhikode, Mar 27 (UNI) Contrarary to an agreement on merger with the parent Congress party, the Democratic Indira Congress (Karunakaran) in Kerala today said it will take a final decision on the issue only after the Asseembly poll in the state.

Talking to newspersons after a worker's convention here, party president K Muraleedharan said all sections of the party, including mass organisations, would be consulted before taking a final decision on the issue.

The remarks came after a section of the gathering expressed strong resentment over the merger move.

Mr Muraleedharan had reportedly signed a written agreement with KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala on the merger after the poll as a precondition for an electoral tie-up recently.
