CRPF to demand foreign coaches, better equipment for athletes
New Delhi, Mar 27 (UNI) The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) will seek more funds for better equipment, foreign coaches and training for its athletes preparing for the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, its Director General J K Sinha said today.
Speaking at a function to introduce to the press the CRPF's medal winning sportspersons Kunjarani Devi, Geeta Mani and Monika Devi here, he said the CRPF could come up with more medals for the country provided the sportspersons receive better training, coaches and infrastructure.
''We are discussing about what all to demand from the Government as we prepare for the next Games,'' Mr Sinha said.
The CRPF, which got 1/10th of India's total medal haul in Melbourne, had announced a cash reward of Rs 1.25 lakh for the gold and Rs 75,000 for the silver medallists.
