Couple drown in temple well

Tirupati, Mar 27(UNI) A couple drowned in a temple well near railway station at Mullakalachreuvu, in Chittoor District, police said.

They said, the mishap occurred yesterday, when the victims went to the well to wash their legs before offering worship.

P Lakshmidevi accidently slipped and fell in the well while her husband, P Reddappa who tried to save her also drowned.

He was a railway employee.

The bodies were sent to Madanapalle Government Hospital for post-mortem.

A case has been registered and an investigation was on police added.
