BJP squirms uncomfortably as RSS leader praises Sonia
New Delhi, Mar 27 (UNI) Notwithstanding RSS leader M G Vaidya showering praises on Congress President Sonia Gandhi for quitting from her Lok Sabha seat, the BJP today said it did not agree with the 'personal views' expressed through a newspaper column.
Asked for his reaction on Mr Vaidya's column in a Marathi daily 'Tarun Bharat', BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar said he was a free and independent writer but these are not the views expressed by RSS.
The former RSS spokesman in his regular column 'Bhashya' in the newspaper had praised Ms Gandhi for exhibiting ''political maturity'' by quitting as Chairperson of the National Advisory Council and her Lok Sabha seat. He had implicitly asked the BJP to seek the resignation of its leaders facing similar charges.
''The RSS leader is free to express his views. This view is one of the many views we have taken note, but we don't agree with the him,'' he said.
