'BJP enjoying unprecedented support in Asom'
Dibrugarh, Mar 27: Former BJP President L K Advani today (Mar 27, 2006) expressed confidence that the party will form the government in Asom with 'like-minded' parties.
He was talking to mediapersons here after his flight back home was cancelled yesterday.
Mr Advani maintained that the BJP had witnessed rising strength in the state over the years and was confident of playing a bigger role in the state after the forthcoming polls.
He said the party was riding on a strong positive wave in the state and had received unprecedented support from the masses.
The leader of the Opposition at the Centre claimed that his party had received 'much affection and love' from the people of the state.
Earlier, party national President Rajnath Singh today said in Guwahati that the BJP would offer a 'third alternative' to the people of Asom, disillusioned with the Congress and Asom Gana Parishad.
Ms Sushma Swaraj had also yesterday exuded confidence that the 'positive atmosphere' in the state in favour of BJP would soon translate into a 'positive wave' and help the party assume power here.
