Bail to SP MLA in legislator murder case

Allahabad, Mar 27 (UNI) Allahabad High Court today granted bail to Samajwadi Party MLA Khalid Azim alias Mohd Ashraf in BSP MLA Raju Pal murder case.

Justice K N Ojha observed that since trial in the case was still on, Ashraf would not tread near the residence of the complainant, Puja Pal -- the widow of Raju Pal.

The applicant's counsel had contended that none of the witnesses had supported the prosecution case, besides all witnesses had turned hostile.

The bail application was opposed by government advocate V S Mishra.
