All schools to have buildings by 2007: Minister
Bhopal, Mar 27 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh government has made a provision of Rs 1,800 crore this year -- 31 per cent more compared to funds earmarked for this purpose during last financial year -- for improving school education.
Minister of State for School Education Paras Jain today said a target has been set to construct buildings for schools not having them by 2007.
Mr Jain was addressing a gathering after 'bhoomi pujan' of a primary school at Balgarh in Dewas district yesterday. The school was being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs five lakhs under the Sarvashiksha Abhiyan Mr Jain, who is also the Minister in-charge of Dewas district, said the government was concentrating on bringing about qualitative improvement in the standard of elementary as well as secondary school education.
He said several buildings and additional rooms were being constructed under the Sarvashiksha Abhiyan.
Mr Jain added that bicycles would be distributed to all girl students of ninth standard so that they do not face difficulty in reaching their schools.
