All round buying lift Sensex by 133 pts to 11,084

Mumbai, Mar 27 (UNI) Led by big gains in the metal and FMCG stocks in particular, the benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) was trading at another all time high of 11,084 points with a gain of 133 points this afternoon at 1345 hrs.

The 30 share sensitive index (Sensex) opened with a gain of 46 points at 10,996 as compared to the last close of 10,950.

Sensex crossed the earlier high of 11,017 and touched a new high of 11,089 this afternoon.

All Asian markets too were up today leading to bullish sentiment in the domestic markets.

Big boy Reliance Industries was trading at life time high of Rs 791 with a gain of 1.11 per cent.

Steel Authority of India (SAIL) was also at an all time high of Rs 86.40 this morning and traded at Rs 85 this afternoon.

Among the 30 Sensex index 27 blue chips were gaining this afternoon showing a rally in the frontline shares.

Maximum gains were seen in the Metal companies with more than three per cent gain in the BSE Metal index at 3.36 per cent.

BSE FMCG index was the other big gainer this afternoon with a gain of 2.35 per cent.

The BSE midcap and smallcap Indices were also showing very good gains of 1.45 per cent and 1.61 per cent, respectively.

Only loser was the BSE Consumer Durable index trailing by 0.44 per cent.

The top Sensex gainers were led by lifetime high mark reached by FMCG giant Hindustan Lever at Rs 267 with a gain of 4.56 per cent over the last close. It traded at Rs 265 with a gain of 4.09 per cent this afternoon.

Other prominent gainers were from the metal pack lead by Tata Steel ganing 3.64 per cent at Rs 511.25, Hindalco was up by 3.53 per ent at Rs 175.80.

ACC, the cement major too gained over three per cent (3.22) at Rs 787.

ITC, Dr Reddy's Lab, Gujarat Ambuja Cements, Cipla and ONGC too were up by more than two per cent.

Tata Power was up by 1.97 per cent at Rs 600.30.

The three losers on the Sensex were Wipro, Tata Motors and Infosys.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) S&P CNX Nifty was trading at an all time high of 3,318 with a gain of 38 points at 1401 hrs.
