UPA MLAs to meet Dr Kalam for disqualification of legislators
Ranchi, Mar 26 (UNI) All Opposition MLAs in Jharkhand would urge President A P J Abdul Kalam tomorrow to ensure disqualification of all those MLAs who were holding office of profit.
Before leaving for New Delhi today, Leader of Opposition in Jharkhand Assembly Sudhir Mahto said the UPA MLAs besides meeting Dr Kalam, would also ask the Election Commission to disqualify all those MLAs who were holding offices of profit.
He informed that all UPA MLAs were leaving for New Delhi either by air or by trains.
Mr Mahto said the amended Legislature Removal Disqualification Bill, 2006 was passed not in accordance with the prescribed rules and regulations and hence, the Governor should return it. He claimed that the Jharkhand government was now in minority.
