Uma to woo Uttaranchalis from Apr 11

Dehra Dun, Mar 26 (UNI) Expelled BJP leader Uma Bharti is all set to woo the people of Uttaranchal from April 11 onwards, initiating her 'Janadesh Yatra' from Roorkie, before flagging off her new political party.

She will visit the state in two phases and would again return to the state on May 15 after launching her own party.

''In the first phase of the campaign, plain areas will be covered and in the second phase, hill areas will be visited by her'', said Lalit Pant, Convener Uma Bharati Yatra for Uttaranchal, while addressing mediapersons here today.

He said Ms Bharti's campaign in Uttaranchal would begin with her arrival in Roorkie on April 11 which would be followed by her visit to Haridwar the next day where she would attend a Sant Sammelan.

On April 13, she would visit Kotdwar Siddh Bali Mandir.

''The first phase of her campaign will conclude with a public address at Rudrapur and Kashipur in Uddhamsingh Nagar on April 14 and 15 respectively,'' Mr Pant said adding that Ms Bharti would again return to the state to complete the second phase of the campaign after the launch of her new party at Varanasi on April 30.

''Uma Bharti will start the second phase of her campaign in Uttaranchal with Char Dham yatra on May 15, from where she would address the public at Almorah, Bageshwar and Haldwani and conclude her campaign at Dehradun on May 25,'' he informed adding that in the context of Uttaranchal, where BJP was Arjun, Uma's new party would be Eklavya.
