Sehore, MP, Mar 26 (UNI) Expelled Bharatiya Janata Party leader Uma Bharti today said her objective was not to defeat Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who is also Vidisha MP, in this district's Budhni assembly bypoll.

''I have no fancy for the election. An ordinary party worker Rajendra Singh had emerged victorious there (in the December 2003 assembly poll). What is the big deal if Shivraj wins now. If he loses, then it will be even more distressing as someone like Mr Pramod Mahajan may occupy the post as (the BJP tenure's) fourth chief minister,'' the former chief minister told mediapersons here.

The firebrand sadhvi alleged that Madhya Pradesh lost an opportunity for development due to the BJP.

''Chief Ministers were changed but the party was not. Therefore, the party's agenda ought to have lasted. I will not rest until Madhya Pradesh emerges as a developed state,'' she claimed.
