TTD official harps on detailed vedic learning
Tirupati, Mar 25 (UNI) Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) and Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidya Peetha (RSVP) conducted a day-long convention here.
Speaking after the convention last evening, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Executive Officer A P V N Sarma emphasised the need for teaching several aspects of the vedas in a detailed manner for the benefit of the students.
He also wanted the students of the veda pathashala at Dharmagiri in Tirumala to learn "veda bhashyam." "They should be able to give discourses with detailed commentary on Bhagavatham and Ramayanam," he added.
Mr Sarma suggested short term courses for vedic pandits in the university and also a joint venture for publication and recording of vedas.
RSVP Vice Chancellor Acharya Govindan said vedic students should have computer knowledge as part of propagation of the vedas and upanishads.
