Tripura CPI(M) secretariat condoles Biswas death
Agartala, Mar 26 (UNI) CPI(M) Tripura State Secretariat today expressed deep sorrow at the untimely demise of veteran marxist and polit bureau member Anil Biswas in Kolkata.
The secreteriat also expressed its heartfelt condolence to Mr Biswas's wife and family members and said a pall of gloom had descended upon the rank and file of the party in the state after hearing the news of the veteran leader's demise.
The written statement further expressed its indebtedness to Mr Biswas for his support to the Tripura branch of the CPI(M).
The secretariat unanimously decided that the party flag would fly at half-mast across the state for three days from tomorrow as a mark of respect towards Mr Biswas.
Upon receiving the news, an emergency secretariat meeting was convened to condole Mr Biswas death and a two-minute silence was observed. CPI(M) Central Committee member and state CPI(M) secretary Baidyanath Majumdar and party leader Gautam Das will fly to Kolkata tomorrow to join the party members here and pay their tributes.
