TN, AP win titles in veteran tennis tourney

Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh Mar 26 (UNI) S Settu of Tamil Nadu won the veteran singles title in 45-plus age section defeating Anand Swaroop of Andhra Pradesh 6-2, 6-2 in the final of Gokaraju Memorial All India Open tennis tournament for Veterans played here today.

In the doubles final, S Settu (TN) and Umamaheswara Rao (AP) lifted the title, trouncing K R Raman and K Mehar Prakash of AP, 6-3, 6-1.

In 55 plus-age section singles match, Dr V Rama Mohan Rao (AP) won the title, defeating Srikanth Parekh of Maharashtra, 3-6, 6-1 (conceded), while in doubles Madan Mohan Singh (AP) and M S Venkatachalam (AP) defeated Tapn Rao (AP) and Srikanth Parekh (Mah), 6-2, 7-6.

In 65-plus age section singles, V Chiranjeevi (AP) won the title with ease, defeating C Radhakrishan of (TN) 6-1, 6-1, while in doubles C B Raju and Rednam (AP) romped home with the title, defeating V Chiranjeevi and V Nani Rao of (AP), 6-2, 6-3.
