Woman tourist still missing in Kashmir

Srinagar, Mar 26: The Jammu and Kashmir police still has no clue about a woman tourist from Taiwan, Haunge Sui Chin who is missing since Wednesday afternoon, official sources today said.

They said police parties, who rushed to different parts of the Kashmir valley have so far not been able to trace the tourist.

Police have searched Gulmarg, a major attraction for foreign tourists because of snow slopes, and Pahalgam without achieving any breakthrough, sources said.

All huts and hotels at Gulmarg and Pahalgam were searched, but the whereabouts of the tourists were still not known, official sources said.

50-year-old Chin arrived here on March 22 and stayed in a house boat in the famed Dal Lake. However, she left to visit nearby Mughal Gardens in the afternoon but did not return.

The house boat owner later informed the tourist police and a massive hunt was launched to trace her.

However, after failing to trace Chin so, a missing case was registered at Nehru Park police station.

More than 2000 foreign tourists have visited the Kashmir valley during this winter.
