Six workers burried alive,two injured in Uttarkashi.

Dehradun, 26 Mar (UNI) Six workers were burried alive and two others were severely injured when a boulder fell on them at Chinyalisoud in Uttarakashi district yesterday, police today said.

According to the Police Headquarter sources the workers were digging a ditch for the installation of electric tower when suddenly the boulder fell on them. Six of them died instantly on the spot whereas two of them were freed from the rubble, by their fellow workers and rushed to the hospital. Dead bodies of the other workers were also extricated after one and a half hours.

The condition of the injured workers are said to be stable. Chief Minister N D Tiwari, expressing his grief, has ordered a Magistrial probe into the acident and medical facilities to the injured.

Keeping in with the CM's order, imediate assistance of Rs. 25 thousand have been provided to the bereaved families.
