Paswan for a consensus on office of profit
Patna, Mar 26 (UNI) Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertiliser Ram Vilas Paswan today said his Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) would support a bill if introduced in Parliament on the issue of people holding an office of profit.
Mr Paswan, also the president of ther LJP, told newspersons here the controversial issue, that is raging across the country, should be resolved amicably by a consensus among all political parites.
''However, an impression should not be created that only the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) was interested in the bill,'' he said.
Mr Paswan said his party would contest in 10 seats in the coming West Bengal Assembly election.
He said the West Bengal Congress president had written a letter to him with an idea of an electoral alliance between the two parties.
He said the local leaders subsequently identified 10 such seats with high chances of victory .
On Rajya Sabha election, Mr Paswan said LJP Vice President Ranjan Yadav had filed nomination papers as party candidate and hoped the Left parties, Independents and MLAs from other parties would vote for him.
He said among seven Rajya Sabha candidates from Bihar, only the LJP candidate belonged to the Yadav community.
