Malayalam poet 'Kunjunnimash' passes away
Thrissur, Kerala Mar 26 (UNI) Noted Malayalam poet Kunjunni, popularly known as ''Kunjunnimash,'' died at his residence at Valappad in the district today, following prolonged illness.
He was 79.
Kunjunnimash was a bachelor and had been unwell for quite some time.
Starting his career as a teacher at the Sri Ramakrishna Mission High School in Kozhikode, he had penned a large number of poems for children and he himself used to recite them during his visits to schools.
He had won several honours including the Kerala Sahitya Akademi award for his poem ''Kunjunni Kavithakal'' and Balasahithya award for his collection ''Aksharathettu''.
''Mundanum Mundiyum, Kuttipencil, Oonu Thottu Urakkamvare, Rashtreeyam and Vithum Mathum'' were some of his noteworthy creations.
