Magistrate suspended for dereliction of duty

Jorhat, Mar 26 (UNI) Magistrate D S Walia was today suspended by Jorhat Election Officer J S Rao for alleged dereliction of duty.

The Election Commission (EC) had served strict orders to all its officials for complying with the guidelines and had been cracking the whip on erring officials and candidates.

Many officials had already been suspended on similar charges and various candidates had been showcaused or fined by the EC in the run up to Asom polls.
