Mad rush at job mela throws traffic out of gear in Mysore

Mysore, Mar 26 (UNI) Over 5,000 young job aspirants from as many as six districts thronged the mega job mela held at the Vidyavardhaka college in the city today, disrupting vehicular traffic around the venue.

Candidates from Bangalore, Mandya, Kodagu, Chamarajanagar, Hassan and Mysore took part in interviews conducted by various companies, inlcuding eight IT and BT companies from Bangalore and Mysore.

In fact, girls outnumbered boys at the mela inaugurated by Karnataka Housing Minister D T Jayakumar.

Some of the companies that have pitched their tents at the venue were Transworks, Airtel, Sys Information Healthcare India, Guardwell Security and Detective Service Pvt Ltd, Shashi detectives Pvt Ltd, Fantastic Destination and Kumar Marketing Pvt Ltd (All from Bangalore) and the city-based Software Paradigm India Limited.

The unique job mela was jointly organised by the Mysore District Employment Park, Nrushik Sarvodaya Foundation and Vidyavardhaka Sangha and Faith consultants.
