Kasliwal bail hearing on Tuesday
Mumbai, Mar 26 (UNI) A local court will hear on Tuesday the bail plea of Abhishek Kasliwal, 27, accused of raping a 52-year-old woman in his car in the compound of his family's Shriram mills at Worli in south-central Mumbai on March 12.
Kasliwal's lawyer has moved the Sessions court at Sewree for bail on the grounds that investigation has been completed in the case. The accused has been subjected to lie detector and brain mapping tests and his identification by the victim and other witnesses was done on Thursday at a parade held on court order.
He was booked under sections 376 (rape) and 325 (grievous injury) of the IPC on a complaint by the woman, hailing from Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. Police had also seized his Mercedes car in which was the crime was allegedly committed.
The victim, in her complaint, said she took a lift in the car of the accused in Colaba area to be dropped at Mumbai Central railway station to enable her catch local train to reach home in Nayagaon.
She allged she was instead driven to the mills compound where she was raped and dropped back in the area from where she was picked up.
