Hooda announces cash awards for Commonwealth games winners

Chandigarh, Mar 26 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced cash awards for the winners of medals at the Commonwealth Games.

The Chief Minister, who was addressing a Panchayati Raj Sammelan at Rai today, said that Rs 10 lakh would be awarded for the winners gold, Rs five lakh for silver and Rs three lakh for bronze. These awards would be admissible to the sportspersons hailing from Haryana.

It may be recalled that Seema Antil has won Silver in Discus Throw and Jitender has won Gold in Boxing in the Commonwealth Games.
