Ex CBI deputy legal advisor's bail plea to be heard on March 28

Mumbai, Mar 26 (UNI) The bail application of former CBI deputy legal advisor and special public prosecutor R P Dwivedi, arrested by CBI on March 14 over corruption charges, will be heard by a special court on March 28.

Dwivedi's counsel R R Triwari has filed the bail application on the grounds that investigations have been completed. He has further contended that his client is suffering from cancer and should be enlarged on bail on medical grounds. Dwivedi is currently in judicial custody till April 4.

Dwivedi allegedly used to collect money from persons trapped by the CBI in corruption cases on the promise of helping them out. He had allegedly received Rs two lakh from one such person for enabling his release on bail.

Bonds worth Rs 18.65 lakh were seized during searches conducted at his residence recently.
