Constables arrested for attempt to rape minor

Jabalpur, Mar 26 (UNI) Two intoxicated constables have been arrested for attempting to rape a 12-year-old at the local office of the Superintendent, state Economic Offences Wing, Superintendent of Police D Srinivas Rao said today.

Last night, Gorakhpur Station House Officer Rajesh Tiwari received a tip-off that Constables Sushil Kumar (52) and Premchand Ahirwar (50) were attempting to sexually assault the Devtal-resident. They were caught in the act by a police team with the assistance of local people.

In a statement, Constable Premchand confessed that he tempted the girl with Rs 50 last evening and lured her to the office.
